Hydroponic Micro greens Year Round Indoor Garden

Micro greens are easy to grow and can be produced year around, even at high altitudes through the depths of winter, with supplemental heat and lightening. Apart from that, they are nutrient dense, intensely flavorful and simply beautiful. If you want to grow micro green indoors, try hydroponic method of growing to enjoy fresh micro greens in colder months. 

The best part about growing micro greens is that they can be easily harvested within 10-15 days. That simply means easy to grow, harvest which tastes fresh and crisp. 

Let’s see how to grow micro greens year around in your indoor garden. Below are some steps you need to follow.

What You Need:

  • Container
  • Mesh
  • Required amount of water
  • Seeds (mustard or fenugreek or wheatgrass)

Container should be quite large where the mesh can be placed comfortably.

Growing Mustard Seeds 

  • Firstly spread the mesh with mustard seeds and then place it on the top of the container which is filled with water. You must place it in such a way where water touches the seeds.
  • The seeds get soaked completely within two to three days and start to sprout.
  • Roots will develop below the mesh and starts shooting above the mesh.
  • Then, place it on the kitchen countertop by the window where it gets some sunlight. Within 10-12 days the fresh micro greens are ready to harvest that taste lovely.
  • Make sure to remove the sieve and place the mesh alone once sprouted.

Growing Fenugreek Seeds:

  • You must follow the same steps as mentioned in the mustard micro greens.
  • The fenugreek seeds has faster germination rate when compared with mustard micro greens.
  • But, they need more water and take little longer time to be harvested.
  • Fenugreek micro greens have less spice than the mature fenugreek leaves.

Growing Wheatgrass Seeds:

  • You must follow the same steps as mentioned in the mustard micro greens.
  • The wheatgrass seeds have less germination rate when compared with mustard micro greens.
  • These seeds can take more or less water same time to be harvested as mustard greens. They can be formed in to lovely weave root basket form.
  • Wheatgrass micro green has strong flavor when allowed to grow longer than the tender ones.

How To Make Fenugreek Micro green Omelet:

What You Need:

  • One egg
  • Chopped fenugreek micro green
  • One chopped onion
  • One grated carrot
  • Required amount of Salt and pepper

What You Need To Do:

  • Harvest the required fresh fenugreek micro green by chopping them above the mesh.
  • Give it a wash and chop it after cutting the roots of fenugreek micro greens.
  • Take a bowl and add chopped micro green, chopped onions, grated carrot, a egg and seasoned with salt and pepper.
  • That’s it, make an omelet and enjoy.
